Volunteers needed to inspire, motivate, and educate girls!
The Young Women’s Leadership Network is looking for COOL WOMEN with HOT JOBS from all career fields to participate in one of four events at our NYC schools.
We need volunteers to educate and inspire girls about the diverse career opportunities available and to motivate our students to plan for college and beyond!
Specifically, you will be asked to speak to girls in grades 6-12 about:
• your current job and daily activities, the highlights & challenges;
• the education and skills needed to succeed in your field; and
• your career path and interesting aspects about your profession.
Our Recruitment Strategy
We would like to have a diverse range of industries represented and will place volunteers by industry/career sector on a first-come, first-serve basis. We specifically want to increase participation from women in STEM careers (science, technology, engineering and math). All volunteers will be asked to speak in a classroom setting with at least one other volunteer. In East Harlem, volunteers will also participate in the Career Fair.
