The average CollegeBound Initiative School consists of 95% students of color, more than 75% are low income and over 75% are the 1st in their families to go to collage.

CollegeBound Initiative is a comprehensive, year-round program that support students from grades 6-12. While a Counselor’s heaviest caseload is with juniors and seniors, he/she also provides early college awareness workshops for students and their parents as early as the 6th grade. When CBI students graduate from high school and go on to college, our support for alumni continues throughout their college careers thanks to our Alumni and Partnership Coordinator.  

The program components involved to achieve each goal include:
 
Early College Awareness Activities (starting in 6th grade):
- Early college awareness lessons/workshops
- College trips
- College fairs
   

Complete Application, Financial Aid, and Enrollment Support:

Individual and groups counseling on college selection, essay writing, letters of recommendation, resumes, and interviewing skills.
  - Comprehensive financial aid counseling and assistance
  - Student advocacy via direct communication with admissions and financial aid officers
  - Parent education and outreach for all aspects of the application process
  - CollegeBound Summer Institute (CBSI) at Gettysburg College
